This Director of Engineering role is crucial to our continued success, leading the charge in designing and delivering cutting-edge hardware and software solutions for our expanding partner ecosystem. Where you come in:
- You will provide technical leadership and strategic direction for a team of software and hardware engineers, creating solutions for Dexcom's expanding CGM ecosystem.
- You will mentor and lead a high-performing engineering team, fostering a collaborative environment through performance management, career development, and recruitment.
- You will develop and manage engineering budgets and resources effectively, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- You will define and execute partner technology strategies aligned with Dexcom's overall business objectives, influencing the future direction of our product roadmap around partners.
- You will build and nurture strong relationships with key silicon vendors, external technology providers, and other strategic partners.
- You will manage the complete product lifecycle, from initial concept to launch and beyond, including post-market support and regulatory submissions (510K and/or FDA).
- You will collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (product management, regulatory, quality) to ensure seamless product development and launch.
- You will effectively manage expectations and deliverables with customers and partners, maintaining strong working relationships.
What makes you successful:
- You are a seasoned leader with a proven track record of successfully managing complex engineering projects.
- You have extensive experience building and managing both software and hardware engineering teams, including remote teams across different time zones.
- Your proficiency in developing and executing technology strategies, aligning them with business objectives, is evident.
- You have demonstrated success in building and maintaining partnerships with external vendors and collaborators, particularly in the semiconductors, cloud providers and others.
- Proven ability to align semiconductor roadmaps with product roadmaps and ensure seamless execution, including compatibility within the partner ecosystem.
- You bring exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, enabling you to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- You possess a deep understanding of product development lifecycles (Agile, Waterfall) and experience delivering mobile applications (Android or iOS preferred).
- Your experience in delivering good connectivity solutions and knowledge of consumer device industry is highly valued. Experience with FDA submissions is a plus.

Travel Required: Experience and Education Requirements:
- Typically requires a Bachelor's degree with 15+ years of industry experience
- Requires a degree in a technical discipline
- 9+ years of successful management experience in relevant industry
Flex Workplace: Your primary location will be a home office. You will not have an assigned workstation and will work with your manager to determine office visit needs. You must live within commuting distance of your assigned Dexcom site (typically 75 miles/120km).

$181,000.00 - $301,600.00
