The Director Business Education and Program Delivery will be responsible for leading the development and design of business learning solutions to address colleague skill gaps, drive capability and skill- building across the organization. This role will liaise with business leaders to identify business education skill building needs and lead business education programs across all lines of business, including:

  • The end-to-end lifecycle of business education programs
  • Materials
  • Processes such as needs assessment, analysis, design, content development, delivery, and impact
  • Analytics/measurement.
The Director will partner with subject matter experts and stakeholders to build a learning strategy that aligns with specific business learning needs; this includes managing the L&TM career development framework for LOBs. The Director will deliver training including soft skill and technical training; that includes overseeing that the technical content is up-to-date and relevant, and that the entire Business Education team is updated.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Create impactful partnerships across the bank to identify skills training needs/gaps.
  • Ability to think strategically to ensure the learning program strategies address both the skill development needed and alignment to overall business strategy.
  • Present comprehensive training concepts/solutions and plans to senior leaders across the organization.
  • Manage projects and workgroups utilizing project planning methodology, includes identifying SMEs and meeting required deliverable dates.
  • Create and manage best-in-class learning programs and processes based online of business capability and skill-building needs across the organization.
  • Develop content and create training using adult learning theory and instructional design tools.
  • Facilitate learning solutions and deliver programs in a manner that both engages the learner and produces desired outcomes.
  • Evaluate and report the effectiveness of training programs using learning data analytics.
  • Work with Managing Director to assess and address development needs of the training staff to achieve training objectives.
  • Implement and maintain training policies, procedures, and strategy to ensure internal and external compliance.
  • Communicate and align knowledge of banking systems, processes, and organizational structure to build strong and impactful relationships with key stakeholders and subject matter experts.
  • Manage budgets pursuant to assigned projects.
  • Work with L&TM leaders to ensure overall alignment of all L&TM learning programs.
Education, Experience and Skills
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 6+ years in Learning and Development or equivalent experience with business training & facilitation
  • Six Sigma certification preferred.
  • People management experience
  • Broad and diverse banking experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills that enables impactful and engaging learning across the bank.
  • Advanced organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage projects with a wide scope with many stakeholders.
  • Self-directed
  • Ability to influence and present at various levels of the organization, including with senior leadership.
  • Able to represent Webster with external parties, including external partners, and vendors to further the strategic goals of HR Learning & Talent Management.
  • Position is based in our Southington, CT location, candidate must be able to work onsite/hybrid schedule.
The estimated salary range for this position is $115,000 USD to $125,000 USD annually. Actual salary may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive compensation.
