Position Title: Director of Operations, Americas (East)

Location: Open to other DLR locations on the East

Your role

This is a day-to-day operations leadership role in which you will ensure operation's activities are aligned with the company's financial and operational objectives. You'll leverage your leadership qualities to positively influence colleagues to embrace the company's operating objectives.

What you'll do

• Direct diverse operations teams to support 24/7 operations of data centers within the assigned sub-region. Operations are inclusive of critical infrastructure management, property management, customer implementation services, and customer relationships.
• Responsible and accountable for sub-regional operational metrics, including, but not limited to, financial performance, uptime, and standards compliance.
• Work closely with sub-regional counterparts within the business including, but not limited to, asset management, design, engineering and construction, sales, and customer success to provide a consistent delivery of service.
• Actively monitor data center market conditions, operations, and drivers within assigned sub-region, and participates in industry events.
• Prioritize use of resources for decision making related to:
  • Operational risk mitigation and remediation
  • Meeting customer commitments on target, on time, and on budget.
  • Extend and expand value delivery for current customers.
  • Develop opportunities to deliver value to current customers in areas of their organizations not already served.
• Possess a strong sense of awareness of the competitive landscape and customer requirements to give the company the best possible opportunity of being the provider of choice.
• Collaborate with asset management and sales to grow the business including supporting and participating in origination activity, sales and investor tours and customer business reviews.
• Maintain a strong external network and insight into the latest developments in the data center industry, including innovative technologies and best practice solutions.
• Travel to support operations, as necessary (approximately 25%).
• Support Americas and Global Standards teams in the development, deployment, and compliance of established processes.

What you'll need

• A bachelor's degree in business or engineering from an accredited university; MBA, other advance degree and/or certifications are preferred
• Sufficient experience managing a team and working within the data center industry.
• Experience in the fundamental operations of critical mechanical and electrical infrastructure.
• Strong financial acumen capabilities, including a demonstrated history in analytics and financial and operating performance management and reporting.
• Excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills and a willingness to accept new ideas and procedures.
• A comprehensive understanding of critical environment management and the challenges of multi-tenant data center occupancy.
• Advanced analytical and quantitative skills.
