Location: Culpeper, VA 22701

This job description outlines a role that requires extensive experience in data center operations, particularly in the physical installation and maintenance of server and network hardware.

Location and Schedule:

On-site presence is required five days a week.

Base location: Culpeper, VA, with occasional travel to Manassas.

Shift: Typically 7am - 4pm, Monday to Friday, with no on-call or weekend duties.

Key Responsibilities:

Rack and Stack Operations: Installing, securing, and managing servers, storage devices, and network equipment.

Cabling: Installation and testing of copper and fiber optic cabling, along with efficient cable management.

Troubleshooting: Resolving network connectivity issues and replacing hardware components.

Documentation: Maintaining accurate records and updating procedural documentation.

Collaboration: Working closely with IT staff and providing technical support.

Compliance and Safety: Adhering to data center policies and maintaining a clean environment.

Qualifications:

Experience: Proven experience in data center operations, especially in rack and stack activities and network switch configurations.

Technical Skills: Knowledge of server, storage, and network hardware; proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting network switches and routers; familiarity with DCIM tools and cable management practices.

Soft Skills: Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills; effective communication and teamwork abilities; ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
