Responsible for analyzing credit applications and assessing the creditworthiness of borrowers. They review financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant documentation to evaluate the risk associated with extending credit. The Credit Associate - PF works closely with the sales team and clients to gather necessary information and ensure compliance with credit policies and procedures. They also assist in preparing credit proposals, monitoring loan portfolios, and conducting periodic credit reviews. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of credit analysis principles are essential for this role.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  • Performs financial analysis, risk assessment, and detailed due diligence for Agile Premium Finance. Review commercial loan applications and analyze standard credit information packages to make assessment of applicant's creditworthiness. Determines whether the proposed loan will conform to Bank Lending Policy. Provide feedback to the Credit Manager - PF and President as applicable, regarding the structure, underwriting, and management of loans. Maintain on-going communication with all appropriate Sales and Account Reps on the status of transactions. Utilize individual lending authority to approve or modify credit requests. These loan relationships will generally range from $100k to $250k.
  • Prepare executive summaries for new and renewal requests on for Credit Manager - PF. These loan relationships will generally range from $250k to $2.5MM.
  • Performs financial analysis, risk assessment, and detailed due diligence for Agile Premium Finance. Review commercial loan applications and analyze standard credit information packages to make assessment of applicant's creditworthiness. Analyze financial statement to prepare Risk Rating Model. This will be submitted to Credit Manager - PF for presentation to FFB Loan Committee for approval. These loan relationships will generally range from $1M to $10MM.
  • Utilize software tools to create and manage entities and agency relationship parameters. This will include entity setups, rate tables, compensation tables, management of sales organizations and down payment rules.
  • Test, maintain and recommend improvements to Agile's software platforms.
  • Assist with the setup of data integrations between Agile's software platforms and customer's systems.
  • Update and maintain existing fraud prevention policies and procedures to keep current and ahead of fraud trends in the agency marketplace.
  • Prepare new and existing agency reviews for Credit Manager - PF and Agile Credit Committee.
  • Ensure credit policies and procedures are followed.
  • May audit information to ensure that appropriate documentation is included and completed accurately.
  • Work with Quality Control Team to ensure verifications for fraud prevention are following company standards.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed to Perform Essential Functions of the Job
  • Requires at least 2 - 5 years of Credit Underwriting and/or Commercial Lending Experience. Emphasis of experience will generally be with our Agile loans up to $1MM.
  • Proficiency in mathematical concepts, in order to apply to practical situations.
  • Knowledge of general and in some cases advanced accounting principles and techniques are a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Satisfactory interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or equivalent professional training.

Preferred Knowledge and Skills

Level of Complexity and Scope
  • Deals will range from simple to potentially more complex relationships. These relationships are less than $1MM.

Degree of Independence and Decision-Making
  • Must have experience and ability to make credit decisions independently while receiving minimal guidance in day to day decisions.

Required Supervisory Responsibilities
  • No direct supervisory responsibilities.
  • May mentor, train, and guide Jr. Credit Associates as needed.

Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of deskwork.
  • Frequent use of computer, keyboard, phone and office equipment.
  • Occasionally lifting and carrying light objects, typically up to 10-15 pounds.
  • Occasionally reaching for items on shelves or in drawers.
  • Clear and effective communication in person and over the phone.
  • Ability to move within an office environment.

Compliance Statement

The associate is responsible for meeting all compliance requirements imposed on First Financial Bank by State and Federal law and regulation, as well as all related First Financial Bank policies and procedures. This includes all Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering, OFAC and Suspicious Activity reporting requirements, as well as all other lending and deposit compliance requirements.

Development and Training

Salary range $58,000-$75,486
