Corporate Accounting Intern Position Summary
The Corporate Accounting Intern will be responsible for partnering with the accounting team to review and analyze company operating results. This internship will be located in Elk River, MN. It will be working onsite, working 40 hours/week.
Responsibilities
Corporate Accounting Intern Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform financial analysis of operating company results and metrics
- Assist with monthly reporting and close processes
- Assist with analytical reviews on major customers and competitors
- Review each company's internal control structure and adherence to policies and procedures
- Communicate internal audit procedures to divisional controllers and presidents
- Research new and emerging accounting standards and the impact to Cretex
- Participate in special projects at the corporate office or at an operating company, as directed by the senior accountant, controller, or the leadership team
- Support and comply with the company Quality System, ISO, and medical device requirements
- Read, understand, and follow work instructions and standard work
- Partner with other business segments: sales/marketing, customer service, engineering, quality, and finance
QualificationsCorporate Accounting Intern Qualifications - Enrolled in an accredited accounting or finance degree program
- Understands accounting principles and auditing standards
- Successfully completes internal audit procedures and communicates findings to the operating company leadership team
- Effectively communicates with corporate finance team regarding work status
- Collaborates with accounting team members across multiple organizations
- Takes ownership of projects and responsibilities and see them through to completion
- Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher)
- Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
