Summary:

Coordinates the development of performance improvement processes, assists with compliance with internal and external standards and regulations through monitoring and promotion of continuous survey readiness for the Memorial Healthcare System Trauma and Acute Care Surgery Services.

Responsibilities:

Coordinates, assembles, and maintains required documentation for verification by the Florida Department of Health and American College of Surgeons.Coordinates, implements and maintains quality improvement activities for trauma and acute care surgery service including outcome and cost analysis, preparing benchmark data reports, hospital trauma registry (HTR) system reports and American College of Surgeons (ACS) clinical indicators.Monitors national trends and data to identify opportunities for strategic follow-up and loop closure.Consults with members of the care team to ensure effective and efficient patient care and desired patient outcomes.Assists with community trauma preventions programs, community offerings and clinical education activities.Serves as a resource for healthcare team members, patients, families and community organizations regarding trauma and acute care surgery.

Bachelors: Nursing (Required)Advanced Trauma Course for Nurses (ATCN) - Emergency Nurses Association (ENA), BLS American Heart E-Card (BLS AHA ECARD) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART), BLS American Heart RQI E-Card (BLS AHA-RQI ECARD) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART), BLS Cert American Heart_non ecard (BLS AHA) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART), BLS Certification Grace (BLS GRACE) - Employee Grace Period for Essential Credential (GRACE), BLS Cert Red Cross (BLS RC) - Red Cross (RED CROSS), Registered Nurse Compact License (RN LICENSE COMPACT) - Compact RN Multistate, Registered Nurse License (RN LICENSE) - State of Florida (FL), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) - Emergency Nurses Association (ENA)

Additional Job Information:

Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Required Work Experience: Required Experience:Minimum of five (5) years' acute care nursing experience with emphasis on trauma or related field.Preferred Experience:Critical Care Nursing, Trauma Nurse Other Information: Additional Education Info: Bachelors Degree; Must have a BSN degree from an accredited school of nursing within three (3) years of hire or transfer into the position and must be enrolled in a BSN program within twelve (12) months of hire or transfer.
