The Chief of Psychiatry Services is responsible for psychiatric evaluation, consultation, treatment, and recommendations. Assists with the oversight and direction of psychiatric services at Compass Health Network as described by the policies and procedures designated by the Board of Directors, and in accordance with State, Federal and local requirements. Acts as CCBHO Acting Chief of Psychiatry.

Essential functions include:

  • Participates in the Executive Psychiatry Leadership Team
  • Provides clinical oversight of the psychiatry team in conjunction with CMO
  • Works closely with the Vice President of Outpatient Psychiatry Services in addressing matters of inappropriate client care, unprofessional demeanor, or other opportunities for improvement as determined by the Vice President of Outpatient Psychiatry
  • Assume responsibility for ensuring good client care is provided across the system in cases of emergency, provider absence, or other disruption to psychiatric services
  • Responsible for identifying back up resource during times the Chief of Psychiatry is unavailable
  • Contributes psychiatric expertise and leadership to all Compass Health Network departments and team members
  • Ensures members of the psychiatry team follow Best Practice Standards in delivering care, and follow policies and protocols of the Organization
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of written psychiatry policies and procedures
  • Recommend psychiatry staffing needs
  • Assist in the requirements of qualified psychiatric providers
  • Participate with the periodic review of practice management functions
  • Review patient satisfaction surveys and recommend modifications
  • Review all patient complaints as necessary
  • Participate in medical staff meetings
  • Advocate and serve as a liaison for Compass in the community
  • Assure compliance with all Federal and State regulations
  • Maintain accurate records of services provided in the EMR
  • Interpret clinical policies and procedures to employees, patients, visitors, and governmental agencies
  • Conform to the rules and regulations of the clinic and other governmental entities
  • Assume authority and responsibility as delineated by the Chief Medical Officer
  • Provide Psychiatric evaluation and treatment
  • Provide psychiatric consultation and recommendations
  • Prescription of psychotropic medications
  • Oversight of treatment for psychiatric rehabilitation consumers
  • Acts as CCBHO Acting Chief of Psychiatry


Qualifications: Education

Doctor degree required

Qualifications: Work Experience/Training/Additional Requirements:

At least five (5) years of experience required

Qualifications: Licensure/Certification

Physician licensed in Missouri with a specialty in Psychiatry required
