As we continue to grow, we are looking for a dynamic Chief Human Resources Officer to join our executive team and lead our HR strategy.

Role Overview: The Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) is the Company's strategic leader responsible for the development and execution of plans, programs, policies and procedures to achieve the human resources, business and workforce goals of the Company. As an integral member of the executive team, reporting to the CEO, the CHRO provides key support to Company management in strategic and organizational planning, while also acting as a visionary with a deep understanding of human resources best practices and a passion for fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture. The CHRO will oversee all HR functions, including talent management, employee relations and communications, compensation and benefits, legal compliance, training, safety and worker's compensation matters, organizational development, and diversity and inclusion initiatives.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategic HR Leadership: Develop and implement the Company's HR strategies worldwide in alignment with the overall business goals and strategic objectives.
  • Talent Management: Lead talent management overseeing recruiting, onboarding and training programs, learning and development, performance management, and succession planning. Develop initiatives to build a high-performing workforce. Prepares the annual budget for hiring, promotions, merit adjustments, and incentive plans in cooperation with the Executive Leadership Team (ELT).
  • Employee Relations: Foster a positive work environment by building effective relationships with management, employees, and work councils, and by recommending and implementing employee communication and engagement programs and activities. Coordinate communication with and between employees and the Company including newsletters, events, training programs, employee recognition and awards, benefits and career opportunities. Promotes employee satisfaction, retention, and productivity. Handle personnel issues in conjunction with management. Ensure legal and regulatory compliance along with compliance to Company, work council, and collective bargaining agreements in compensation, non-discrimination, workplace safety and security and general work conditions.
  • Compensation and Benefits: Ensures compensation and benefits structure aligns with Company's strategic goals and annual objectives, utilizing wage surveys within relevant labor markets to determine competitive wage rates that attract and retain top talent. Acts as primary interface with the Company's service providers for employee health insurance, benefits, workers compensation, training and related programs. Manage employee benefits programs and communications with employees about benefits. Oversee employee registration in benefits programs and resolve employee inquiries and needs.
  • Organizational Development: Drive initiatives that enhance organizational effectiveness and employee engagement. Develop and implement training programs to achieve Company goals, employee career development, safety practices and work conditions and regulatory compliance.
  • Diversity and Inclusion: Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion across all levels of the organization.
  • HR Compliance: Oversees and ensures legal and regulatory compliance in areas of employee and workplace policies, Worker's Compensation, reporting, benefits administration, compensation and payroll and other Human Resources matters. Stays up-to-date HR policies and procedures.
  • Executive Collaboration: Partner with the executive team to align HR strategies with business objectives and drive organizational success.

JOB SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
  • Master's degree in business administration, Human Resources Management or related discipline.
  • Professional designation (SPHR, CPTD, SHRM-SCP preferred).
  • 20+ years of comprehensive Human Resources management experience in multi-national companies.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and cross functional team facilitation, excellent communication skills, and strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong understanding of employment market and competitive compensation structures, recruiting techniques, and knowledge of jurisdictional (federal, provincial, state, etc.) labor laws.
  • Competency and demonstrated ability to manage and lead through organizational change, proven ability to effectively interface with all levels of the workforce as well as with outside service providers, work councils and collective bargaining units, the board of directors, and other stakeholders.
  • Self-directed with ability to work in a highly dynamic work environment, with flexibility, creativity, and clear and concise communication.
  • Strong ethics and the ability to keep information confidential.

  • Demonstrated working capability of MS Office Suite Applications.
