Your new company

• Our client is a General Contractor that specializes in Roadway and Highway projects and other critical infrastructure valued at $50-$200 million and over 50 years of stability.
  
  

Your new role

• Create precise and timely Heavy, Civil, Roadway, Highway construction estimates.
  
• Thoroughly examine detailed drawings and specifications.
  
• Understand project requirements and constraints.
  
• Submit RFI's to Agencies, Owners, General Contractors and Architects as needed during bidding process.
  
• Identify and price alternatives to original plans and specifications.
  
• Optimize cost-effectiveness while maintaining quality.
• Generate budget estimates based on schematic drawings and narrative descriptions.
  
• Prepare scope letters, proposals, and vendor solicitations.
  
• Foster positive relationships with clients and vendors.
  
• Lead the Estimating Department.
  
• Mentor junior personnel.
  
• Maintain and enhance computerized estimating programs and databases.
  
• Work efficiently under time pressure.
  
• Handle change-orders during ongoing projects.
  
• Facilitate smooth transitions from estimating to operations by clearly communicating detailed scopes of work, specifications, and job-specific conditions.
  
• Review estimates created by others for accuracy and completeness.
  
  

What you'll need to succeed

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field + 12 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  
• Working knowledge of AGTEK Take-off, Blue-Beam Take-off, Primavera, HCSS
  
• Demonstrated experience in Civil, Highway, Roadway, Caltrans work
