Role Description:
Immunology, Cellular, AND MOLECULAR BIOLOGY RESEARCH Intern
Location: Fort Collins, CO
Internship Summary:
Design, implement and support in vitro experiments to characterize and improve co-culture and 3D-culture based models and platforms within the companion animal space. The overall goal is to advance disease in vitro model establishment and facilitate mechanistic understanding of therapeutics and disease biology.
Internship Job Duties:
- Perform routine cell culture in formats like 2D, 3D, air-liquid interface and co-culture, including immortalized and primary cells.
- Design and execute cell biology, molecular biology and biochemistry assays.
- Maintain and organize lab records and author relevant documentation in paper and electronic format, such as protocols and white papers.
- Compile and interpret experimental data and present scientific results at team meetings.
- Collaborate closely and assist coordination of research associates with other functional lines, including, E.g., bioinformatics, in vitro pharmacology and cell engineering.
Internship Qualifications:
- Enrolled in a master's or PhD in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Neuroscience or a related field of study with 3+ years of lab-based training. Research experience in the fields of epithelial cell biology or inflammation is preferred.
- Experience with cell-based functional assays and immunoassays, such as cell proliferation, apoptosis, chemotaxis, IF, flow cytometry, ELISA etc.
- Experience with molecular biology techniques, such as DNA/RNA extraction and purification, PCR, qPCR, ddPCR, western blot/JESS etc.
- Relevant technical skills for data analysis, E.g., statistical analysis, DNA and protein sequence analysis, electronic lab notebook documentation, and presenting scientific results to a diverse audience.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively; Passion and ability to learn new concepts and skills; Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.

The following hourly pay rates reflect the anticipated base pay for this position:
If the selected candidate is a student pursuing an Associate-level degree: $16.00 per hour
If the selected candidate is a student pursuing an Undergraduate-level degree: $20.00 per hour
If the selected candidate is a student pursing a Graduate-level degree: $32.50 per hour
If the selected candidate is a student pursuing a Doctorate-level degree: $36.00 per hour
The following hourly pay rates reflect the anticipated base pay for this position if a selected candidate were to be located in California, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Illinois (Chicago area), Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Washington (Seattle area):
Student pursuing an Associate-level degree: $17.00 per hour
Student pursuing an Undergraduate-level degree: $22.00 per hour
Student pursing a Graduate-level degree: $36.40 per hour
Student pursuing a Doctorate-level degree: $40.30 per hour
