What You'll Do

Ensure that the Credit Union is compliant with applicable state and federal laws, statues and regulations within policies, procedures, training, forms, disclosures and more. Responsible for the oversight of regulatory and compliance issues relating to the Credit Union including our Cannabis Banking Program. Provide accurate and timely guidance on compliance matters and advising on proposed employee training. Research laws, regulations and pending or proposed legislation that may affect Credit Union operations. Identify and communicate regulatory compliance deficiencies or potential problems. Provide guidance in the development of alternative solutions or implementation of corrective actions.

  • Have a working knowledge of Deposit, BSA and Cannabis Compliance, FinCEN guidelines and Red Flags and other compliance programs including policies, procedures, training, filing of government forms, monitoring, and other internal requirements based upon law.
  • Ensure required government forms are filed and confidentiality is maintained, monitoring and/or communication is complete, and records are retained. (i.e., SARS, CTRS, OFAC and other government forms).
  • Act as a compliance consultant for the Credit Union by providing advice and expertise regarding the legal compliance of company-wide processes, such as our Cannabis Program, Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), and Member Support escalations, procedures, and consumer disclosures
  • Review and evaluate financial documentation (income statement, balance sheets and tax documents) for interpretation of the business activities and resulting financial transactions.
  • Stay up to date on internal Credit Union activity including policies, procedures, products, services, processes, and practices that may directly or indirectly be affected by laws or regulations
  • Review, revise and/or develop Credit Union and Cannabis forms, disclosures, and other promotional materials to ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations. Interface with outside counsel and/or bonding agency, if necessary.
  • Stay up to date on internal Credit Union activity including policies, procedures, products, services, processes, and practices that may be directly or indirectly affected by laws or regulations.

What You'll Bring - Level
  • 1 + year experience working in a financial institution, member facing role with experience handling business accounts.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, or similar preferred.
  • Bank Secrecy Act Compliance Specialist (BSACS) designation or attain certification within six (6) months of service date.
  • Proven ability to support a strong member/customer service culture (i.e., progressive career advancement).

What You'll Bring - Level II
  • Two to four years' experience working in a financial institution, member facing role with experience handling business accounts.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, or similar preferred.
  • Bank Secrecy Act Compliance Specialist (BSACS) designation or attain certification within six (6) months of service date.
  • Proven ability to support a strong member/customer service culture (i.e., progressive career advancement).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills or ability, as demonstrated in email communications and presentations.
