Associate Actuary

Location: The ideal candidate should live within 50 miles of our Elevance Health Pulse Point locations listed on this requisition.This position will work a hybrid model (remote and office) 1-2x a week.

The Associate Actuary is responsible to complete the most diverse and complicated projects and performs highly complex actuarial studies.

How you will make an impact:

• 
  Performs key actuarial functions including new product pricing, evaluation of the impact of new legislation, flexible benefit consulting, and special projects.
  
  
• Designs and completes special projects such as developing and maintaining experience-rating formulae and creating and/or reviewing alternative settlement formulate and risk sharing models.
  
• Responsible for recommendations on pricing, marketing, product design, claims, premium and enrollment administration of business unit.
  
• Responsible for valuation support for business unit by interpreting financial results, variances from forecast to help identify product and segment behavior to assist in the risk management of the business unit.
  
• Provides guidance and trains junior team members
  
• Communicates and presents materials both internally and externally, clients and prospects
  
• Collaborate with underwriting, sales, and other key stakeholders to enhance value propositions and support business needs.
  

Minimum Requirements:

• Requires a BA/BS degree and minimum of 4 years related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. ASA required from the Society of Actuaries (SOA).
  

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:

• Experience at communicating directly with clients, consultants, or other external parties is preferred
  
• Experience doing data analytics and creating presentation materials is strongly preferred
  
• Experience leading projects is preferred
  
• Experience with provider network analysis is strongly preferred
  
• Familiarity with self-funded client analysis is strongly preferred
  

For candidates working in person or remotely in the below locations, the salary* range for this specific position is $112,392 to $192,672.

Locations: New York
