CMS ATHLETICS
The Joint CMS Athletics, Physical Education, and Recreation Program is comprised of student-athletes from Claremont McKenna, Harvey Mudd, and Scripps Colleges and offers a comprehensive program of regular physical education, intramural, recreational, club, and varsity sports. CMS varsity teams compete in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC), as a member of NCAA Division III. The Program is comprised is 21 varsity sports (10 men's, 11 women's) and supports a student population of over 3,200 and a student-athlete population of approximately 530.
APPROXIMATE SALARY RANGE: $21.00-23.00 PER HOUR
BASIC FUNCTION
This position is responsible for assisting the Head Women's Lacrosse Coach in all facets of the program, including but not limited to: organizing and conducting team training and practices, team travel logistics, scholar-athlete development, and compliance with all applicable rules and regulations. Additional administrative responsibilities as assigned by the Head Coach.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will demonstrate an understanding and appreciation of the role of athletics in the liberal arts college curriculum and the integration of the student-athlete and coaching staff into the overall educational experience offered at The Colleges.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Coaching and Administration (100%):
Reporting to the Head Women's Lacrosse Coach, the assistant coach works both independently and collaboratively to perform the following essential duties and responsibilities:
Regular attendance is considered an essential job function; the inability to meet attendance requirements may preclude the employee from retaining employment.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
EDUCATION: A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Previous collegiate participation and coaching is preferred. Experience in recruitment of academically focused scholar-athletes is preferred.
LICENSES: A valid driver's license is required.
GROOMING AND APPEARANCE: The Claremont Colleges seek to maintain a neat and professional image at all times.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Moderate (up to 30 lbs.)

REQUIRED HOURS: The hours for this part-time position will vary, with the flexibility to set work hours appropriate to the needs of the program. This is a temporary position, open until filled, with a start date of September 1, 2024 and an end date of May 31, 2025.
