Adjunct Faculty (Ceramics) Visual Studies Department

St. Edward's University, a nationally ranked, independent Catholic university and Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) invites applications for a pool of qualified applicants for future, part-time Adjunct Faculty appointments in Studio Arts: Ceramics in the Department of Visual Studies, beginning Fall 2024. St. Edward's is characterized by its commitment to the Holy Cross educational mission to educate the hearts and minds of a diverse student body that is deeply committed to social justice.

The successful candidate may teach up to nine (9) semester credit hours within the required discipline at on-campus sites as dictated by student demand, hold office hours, and assist students as needed. This position requires face-to-face interactions through a regular schedule of attendance on campus.

For consideration, candidate must have:

  • Master's degree in Studio Arts.
  • Previous teaching applied studio art at the collegiate level.
Preferred Qualifications:
    Prior experience teaching all levels of wheel throwing and hand-building ceramics.

Essential Responsibilities Include:

    Ability to teach undergraduate college ceramic students applied lessons at all levels.Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.Ability to interact effectively and professionally with the general public.Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks.Ability to work under stress and with pressing timelines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Other information:
    The above job duties may not be performed in every Adjunct Faculty position and might not include all related duties that may be performed.Additional duties may be assigned for studio arts classes.Adjunct Faculty positions are temporary appointments, assigned per semester and on an as-needed basis.These temporary appointments are for the Fall 2024 semesterOther duties as assigned
