Job Description:
The Department of Health and Human Services is looking for a dynamic individual with a keen attention to detail to serve as a lead worker in the Child Support Enforcement Finance Unit as an Accountant III Lead.

Serving as a Lead Worker in the Child Support Enforcement Finance Unit, you will:

•Provide oversight and support in the work of the Receipting Unit, including review and approval of child support enforcement expense reimbursements for contractor and sub recipients. This includes evaluation of any training needs as well as providing ongoing support through the development of written procedures.

•Provide initial and ongoing training to accounting staff to develop, improve and maintain the performance levels of those employees.

•Develop policies and procedures and provide technical assistance to other accounting staff.

•Interpret and apply knowledge of federal and state rules and regulations to ensure accuracy within established timeframes.

•Monitor work of the unit and report to management on work not meeting established timeframes and quality standards.

•Assist in developing a plan of action to improve the accuracy and quality of work produced.

•Analyze and validate financial data within the accounting system.

•Suggest modifications to existing policy and procedure to ensure efficient operation of the accounting system.

•Research and develop solutions to complex accounting problems to ensure consistency and accuracy of the accounting records.

Hiring Rate: $28.077 - Non-Exempt

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Dress Attire: Business Casual

Requirements / Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, statistics, business administration or related field; OR Associate degree in accounting, finance, statistics, business administration or related field and two years' experience with professional accounting procedures; OR four years' experience with professional accounting procedures including developing public accounting systems, modifying public accounting systems, and financial management consultation.

Preferred Qualifications: 3 years' experience using Children Have a Right to Support (CHARTS) financial functions. Experience interpreting Federal and State Regulations. Experience leading/training a team.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Must have excellent skills in customer service, written and verbal communication, and problem-solving.
