SummaryThe Newcomb-Tulane College Career Service's mission is to empower students to translate their lived experience and academic knowledge to their post-Tulane future through advocacy, action, and connection.
The Career Educator provides a high-quality and engaging classroom teaching experience emphasizing utilizing classroom technologies, resources, and in-person and remote strategies to effectively engage students in career education, professional development, and job search strategies process. The team of two Career Educators implements strategies to scale access to career education through learning management software to increase access to career education for both students and faculty. This position is responsible for annually maintaining, assessing, and enhancing the course curriculum. Additionally, the Career Educator serves as a career coach for an assigned caseload to guide students in developing their personalized career plans. Further, this position supports department-wide initiatives to integrate career education throughout the campus community while supporting the mission of NTC Career Services. This role requires staying current in career and industry trends, coaching resources, and supporting our Tulane students through innovative programming that provides students with access to opportunities.
* Bachelor's Degree* 2 years of experience in a teaching, corporate training, or career coaching/advising role.* Experience in an educational setting advising individuals on career and professional development themes or related field.* Familiarity of Learning Management Systems to deliver and engage students both in-person and remote experiences.
* Master's Degree in Higher Education (or a related area) with 2 years of experience in teaching, corporate training, or career coaching/advising.* Experience with classroom management, curriculum development and assessment, and the use of Learning Management Systems to deliver and engage students both in-person and remote experiences. * Demonstrated experience in fostering relationships a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at Tulane University.
